Letting the inner Diva out to play!

Apologies in advance for the funky layout of the page. I just started cropping my photos, and it opened up a whole new challenge in my blog page layout! lol

Fricka Morgath may be the one celebrating her Rez-day, but we get the presents! Right now, if you head on over to Frick, you will find the free gorgeous Noveria skin and corset gift.

The skin comes in two shades (sugar and blush), cleavage options, light and dark brows, and even a make-up tattoo layer, so you can glam up some of your other skins!

This is the Blush tone.

This is the Sugar tone.

The jewelry is Severus by Mariposa, which is having a going-out-of-business sale... major pout! Felicity Winslet is a talented jewelry designer and wonderful person, and while I am sorry to see Mariposa go, I wish her well on all her future endeavors.

The Exquisite Rock Diva hair I am wearing was NikitaFride's Hair Fair 2010 freebie, but I visited the store in the course of research for this blog entry, and it is now set out as a gift! It is on the floor next to one of the women's lucky chairs.

Other Credits-

Eyes- Poetic Colors (Deep Jungle- not free)
Manicure- Studio Nails (past hunt gift)
Pose- Amaris (past gift)
Belt- n-Creation (Essential Belt- not free)

Don't look now... but the Holiday Season is Upon Us!

It is the start of November, and all across the grid, SL is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. If you haven't started your holiday shopping yet, you are probably starting to get a slight, but growing feeling of panic.

But before your world explodes into a mass feeding frenzy of consumerism, *I work in retail in rl, so I thank you for that! :)* take a moment, and enjoy the sights and smells that accompany the season. Ice skating is a perfect way to start getting into the spirit of the season, and Prim and Pixel has put out a gift skating dress called Ice Princess.

This gift is only available in their Magic of Christmas shop at the Winter Holiday Village. The village is so festive that for a brief moment I swear I got a whiff of cinnamon! I haven't had time to explore the village in full yet, but I did notice that many of the stores were names that I recognize and admire.

Take a good look around Prim and Pixels' shop since there are a number of free gifts.

This scarf is one of them... perfect for that after-skating stroll through a winter wonderland! Leave the ice skating for others... it's time to warm-up with a mug of hot chocolate!

Other Credits-

Eyes- Poetic Colors (deep jungle- not free. Other eye gift available though. I know I always wear Poetic Colors... but they are the best!... imho.) :)

Skin- Mynerva (Sophie in smokey red- not free)

In the Mists of Avalon

Calling all lovers of Celtic designs, fantasy, medieval, or magic RP, the Celtic Magic Hunt is going on now! It only runs until Nov. 15th, but there are only twelve stores in it, so you have plenty of time to finish. There are even hints!

This beautiful gown is the hunt prize from EMO-tions.

Regal circlets...

Kouse's Sanctum

Avilion Mist (this one comes with color change gems! Showing the emerald here)

Mystical tattoo and necklace...

Trident- Triskel Pendent
Fallen Gods Inc.- Celtic Tattoo

That was just a teaser. There are also home furnishing, sculpt, cottage, and other prizes!

Also, Deviance is having a mini cupcake hunt... mini as in only three cupcakes to find, but also mini as in the cupcakes you are hunting for are nearly microscopic! But your reward is the stunning Drow Priestess in purple. It is really a stunning rp outfit and well worth the effort of finding those teeny, tiny little cupcakes!

Shows off the Fallen Gods tattoo beautifully, too!

If it helps (and it will!) here are the official hints for the Deviance Cupcake hunt.

1. Sit down and test your luck
2. The defenders of Lord Rahl
3. Just Whistle while you work

Have you noticed the skin I am wearing? It is a freebie, too!

Willow Skin-Fantasy is the Pilgrim Hunt prize from Style by Kira. It isn't hard to find, and there are a couple of other hunt prizes right next to it. (Top Model Hunt- a skin & MoMo Hunt- a mohawk made of mustaches) Just look for the pilgrim's hat!

I just love how this skin seems to glow from within. It is making me consider getting the non-fantasy make-up version to go with it!

Other credits-

Hair- D!va (Chihura- 5000 member group gift- free and still available. It is upstairs. Join the group and hit the board. Make sure to have a good look around upstairs. There are at least four group hair gifts out and some poses, along with several lucky chairs. There are a couple of more lucky chairs on the stair landing.)

Eyes- Poetic Colors (Sunny Glade- free to new players. Different eye gift available for everyone else)

In Requiem...

We'll hit the freebie, cheapie goodness here in a moment, but first, I'd like to take a moment and remember my sweet girl, Fritzi.

I mentioned in one of my previous posts that I had a sick kitty. It grieves me to say, she didn't make it. That little cat meant more to me than I can say. She was my companion, my friend, even in someways, my child.

She was born on my kitchen floor in June of 1996... tiny, blind, pink, and helpless. Dried off, she turned out to be covered in fine white hair. Fast forward a couple of weeks later, she began to develop the tell-tale dark nose and ears indicating a Siamese heritage. While not a pure-bred by any means, she grew into the prettiest little Himalayan wannabee you could have imagined with the biggest, darkest blue eyes I've ever seen.

Despite her small size, weighing in at only perhaps seven or eight pounds, she had a completely out sized personality and attitude. She was also intensely shy... had you come to my house, chances were good you would have never seen her... unless you looked under the bed.

Though never a snuggler, she was affectionate... sleeping next to me, or sometimes, perched on my hip. She had the ability to make me laugh, charming me into petting her with those giant blue eyes.

She died October 7th, and left a hole in my heart and my world.

This post is just a small way of letting the world know that once there was a beautiful little cat named Fritzi, and that she was, and is, greatly beloved by me.

I miss you, Baby, and love you so very, very much. Wherever you are, be happy and be at peace.

Now to make a clumsy transition to SL fashion...

I only started venturing back in world yesterday, but I did find a few goodies (nothing like hunting down free or cheap fashion to distract the mind). It is just one look, and I'm not going to say too much about it. Check the credits at the end of the blog for information.

The skin is a new to me... Inka. If you've followed my blog at all, you will know that I usually go with the pale and red-headed look, so the darker, latin-look of the Inka skins are a bit of a change for me. But they are really pretty, and change is good... or so I have been told.

The skin I am wearing is one of the Nina skins, and as of this posting, is $L10 for a pack of six make-ups. However, it was supposed to go up to regular price yesterday, and the owner (Inka Mexicola)is in the store as I write this... so I wouldn't be surprised if the price changes here shortly. If it hasn't, there is another skin line called Barbie right next to the vendor for Nina, and it too, is currently $L10. There are also some group gifts, and a picks reward skin available. These skins are very nice quality, and very glamorous. Definitely worth checking out, even for a normally translucent girl, such as myself.

The photos were taken on the new Heartsick sim... I wanted a fall look and remembered it was a beautiful build. However, it proved to be a bit challenging... unbeknownest to me, Heartsick is having a mini-hunt! So, I had to time the photo snaps between hunters roaming through the background. I haven't seen the prizes yet, but there are 13 little ghosts scattered about the sim, each cost a $L1... but knowing Heartsick's quality, I am sure they are wonderful!

It is Hunting Season!

Has anyone else noticed the abundance of hunts happening now? So many good ones... we are all going to zooming all over the grid throughout the Fall from the looks of things.

So here is just a small sampling of the things that I've picked up from just four different stores over the last two days...

From Ingenue (dress) and Tiny Bird (hair and hat) for the Seasons Hunt (Fall)

From Petunia (dress) for the Icon Hunt, and Tiny Bird (hair and hat) for the Seasons Hunt (Fall)

Closer look at the hair and hat from Tiny Bird... two styles, this one is unisex!

From Petunia (dress) for the Magic of Autumn and Clawtooth (hair) for Seasons Hunt (Fall)

From Petunia (knock-out dress including shoes!) for the What's Your Sign Hunt (Aries)

Here's a closer look at those killer candy apple red shoes! This hunt ends today (9-25), but the hunt prize was still out as of this posting. Run, run, run and get it now before Aree pulls it!

And just in time for Halloween... Petunia's offering for the Witches' Brew Hunt!

Other credits:

Eyes- Poetic Colors- Deep Jungle (not free, but other eye gift in store)
Short Black Hair- Eha- Jean (free opening gift... may still be out)
Skin- Mynerva- Sophie-Smokey Red (not free, but there's still time to grab the Think Pink Hunt gift which is a pink (duh!) make-up version from the Sophie skin line.)

The Envelope please! And the winner is... (drumroll)

You!

If you haven't done the Red Seal Hunt at Rue D'Antibes, oh what you are missing! It isn't a long hunt, only 26 stops, and only a few of the prizes were what I'd call challengingly hidden. All in all, I spent less than an hour completing it. And the gifts are so very worth it! There are several home decor items, a box of textures for those builders or future builders out there, clothes, poses, hair... even a kit to build your own crypt for Halloween!

I might look a bit different than I usually look in these pictures (no doubt some will say better than normal! lol) due to the fact that I am wearing the shape and brown eyes that are the gift from Di's Opera. This gift also includes a styling card and a couple of cute poses. The shape is mod, which often isn't the case in gift shapes, and if I weren't so attached to my normal shape, I might start wearing this one! Perhaps I'll send my new alt Iolanthe after it... I'm still trying to find her "look".

Here's a peek at some of the wonderful gifts the designers at Rue D'Antibes have tucked inside those Red Seal Envelopes...

Dress- Sand and Sea

Lingerie Set- Love, Ashley Comes with several stocking options and an interactive set of three picture frames. Pose from Di's Opera hunt gift bag.

Dress- Icing Comes with a black skirt option which I previously blogged here. I left part of the black skirt option on in this picture, which gives a bit of a belted look to the dress. Pose from Di's Opera hunt gift bag.

Mini Skirt Ensemble- Wap Design

Fedora Hat- Indyra Originals

Dress- Reale Comes with long and shorter skirt options

Skull Ballet Flats- Beatnik

Pedestal Vase with Flowers- The Curious Prim

Box of Textures- Madville Textures While I don't build at this point, I'm going to hang on to this just in case I get an urge to try sometime!

And perhaps the piece de resistance of this outstanding hunt...

Gown- Fellini Couture

All items shown are gifts from the Red Seal Hunt, with the exception of:

Skin- Mynerva (Think Pink Hunt)
Hair Base- Amacci (From Hair Fair 2010 gift bag- past gift)
Items visible in background of my home
Backdrops and poses from Mooc's public photo studio

Red Seal Items not previously credited:

Hair-
CIC- short style, also comes with a men's style
Raspberry Aristocrat- Updo style

Earrings- Junk

Stockings- Love, Ashley

Not shown, but I meant to show, a beautiful scarf from Zeery. While you are at Zeery, take a moment to hunt for the International Affair gift. It is a beautiful shawl representing Ecuador.

Red Seal Hunt is going on now until Oct. 4. Don't miss it! Here is the starting point.

Now to change back into me! lol
